Painting Ends
This step serves a couple purposes.  In addition to color-coding the different lengths for easy identification, painting the ends also seals the poles against rust.

We had the idea of hanging the poles to make it easier to spray point, but they were too heavy.

Spray painted without a drop-cloth... the red was gone from the yard within weeks.
